Customers’ Concerns On Radiation Levels On Cars And Parts
Toyota is working closely with Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) on the radiation issue
Toyota reaffirms that its highest priority is to ensure total safety of its employees and customers. All Toyota plants are well outside the zones designated for evacuation by the Japanese and United States governments. Radiation levels recorded in the production plants or related facilities do not post any threat to human health.
The company firmly commits to the following:
- Toyota will fully respect any guidance issued by public and health authorities, and Toyota will actively work with JAMA. They will implement any required measures to ensure full safety of any vehicle or part to be sold in Japan or exported to other countries.
- Toyota will not allow any site (production, logistics, offices...) to operate if there is any risk for the health of its employees. This also implies that no product will be manufactured or transported in areas where there would be radiations posing a threat to human health.
According to information stated in JAMA’s website: “the Japanese government as well as local authorities are, in full transparency, disclosing the levels of radiation detected as a result of continuous monitoring of the situation.”
